The Tides Are Turning: Justice Is Coming for Survivors Like Me

For so long, it felt like we were screaming into the void.
So many of us have been living with the trauma of sexual abuse, silencing, and exploitation—carrying the unbearable weight of truth while watching our abusers walk free. For decades, I’ve waited. I’ve fought. I’ve spoken up, only to be met with disbelief, betrayal, or worse—deliberate silencing by the very systems and people that promised to protect victims.
But lately, something is shifting.
With the upcoming prosecution of Russell Brand, a man whose public persona was once cloaked in comedy and charm, I feel a flicker of hope. The kind of hope that used to feel dangerous to hold. It’s not just that he’s being held accountable—it’s that the world is finally starting to listen to women like me.
For years, Brand’s behavior was excused, celebrated, even marketed. Now, survivors are being heard, and the conversation is changing. This isn’t about one man—it’s about a system that’s cracking. And in those cracks, truth is seeping through.
Watching high-profile cases gain traction sends a message to every survivor who’s been told, “No one will believe you.” It tells us:
“Maybe now they will.”
This moment reminds me that justice is not linear, and healing often comes before the courtroom. But make no mistake—my day in court is coming too. The crimes committed against me—sexualized, predatory, and cruel—will not be buried under someone else’s fame, privilege, or power. The walls that once protected predators are weakening.
I can feel it.
The tides are turning.
And when they crash, they’ll bring cleansing, clarity, and consequences.
To every survivor still waiting: hold on. Your voice matters. You are not alone. And your justice may be closer than you think.
