It's outrageous that AB 933, a law protecting survivors from defamation when speaking out about their experiences, is only effective in California and a few other states - but not nationally!
This contradiction is staggering, especially when non-profit organizations like MeToo and RAINN encourage survivors to share their stories, yet our government fails to provide basic whistleblower protections.
This is essentially 'catch and kill,' where survivors are silenced by the very system meant to protect them.
If our government doesn't rectify this, I'm prepared to take legal action to demand change and ensure survivors' voices are heard without fear of retribution.
